Mannequin

Mannequin. Faces painted onto plastic.
Bodies molded into your image.
On display in your windows.
To gaze at and admire.
But never to touch.
Never to hold.
A mannequin.
A statue of perfection.
But never free to move on its own.
Never free to eat, to see, to touch.
Never free to live. Because perfection isn't alive.
It's dead. And you killed it.

Makeup painted onto pale faces.
Corpses molded into a doll.
On display in your mortuary.
To gaze at and mourn.
But never to touch.
Never to hold, one last time.
An empty casket made of stained glass.
Never free to move again.
Never free to eat, to see, to touch.
Never free to live one more life.
Because she's dead.
And you killed her.

Teddy's Gift.

Teddy's Gift. Sewing together fabric, soft and fuzzy wool
Stitch it together with the string of the soul.
Stuffing made of clouds, plush and squish.
Soon to guarantee your wish!

Buttons or beads to look and see
Biting into crumbs and sipping on tea
Big little nose and little big heart
Bears are simply a work of art!

A friend to hold and call your own
A buddy to comfort you when you’re alone
A childhood memory, never to fade
Animal plushies are never afraid.

Radio

Radio. One day, I found a radio.

I should’ve trashed it ages ago, but..

I still hold onto the idea of a miracle.

Atoms of Adam We shall split the atom,
And give life to radiation.
The fission of our matter,
The birth of destruction.
If our understanding is crucial,
Then why do we destroy everything we touch?

G-d shall split Adam,
And give life to Eve.
The splitting of the flesh,
The birth of feminine life.
If her existence is crucial,
Then why did she come second?

We shall split the Adam,
a surgical process on the heart.
Give life to radioactive disease.
The birth of destructive life.
If our existence is crucial,
why did we come second?
